Disclaimer: Mistakes are quite likely in the notes and no guarantees are made as to accuracy. There may be other versions of the same dance or other dances with the same name. Music may differ, particularly in speed, introduction and duration, between performers. The division into parts, bars & counts might not be standard. These notes of the dance are freely distributable (under GPL or CC-by-sa) in so much as the note's author's contribution but the choreography and/or collection were by other people and so their copyright might apply to the dance itself. Better than using notes, go to a dance class where it is taught by Stefan Freedman.

A Klezmer style dance with a happy jokey funky feeling done to funky music from Dunkelbunt, a Dutch swing / electro / dub / Balkan / Klezmer / Gipsy fusion band.

To make the music even more suitable for folk-type dancing, Stefan suggested that the ending and the transient fade-down parts can be edited out.

Style: Flat footed. Small knee bounce down & up on each step. Stamps are done with the foot coming vertically down. Funky. Casual, fun & jokey, can be hammed up.

Introduction

Summary: Start when melody starts.

Wait through the introductory music (8 bars) and start dancing when the melody starts.

1
1 R forwards to the side.
2 L stamp close without weight transfer. (Stefan described the stamps as in this Part as being steps that were "almost stamps" but in practice they were essentially stamps. I think he meant that the emphasis was on the visual motion not the sound production.)

4 R stamp close without weight transfer.
