Disclaimer: Mistakes are quite likely in the notes and no guarantees are made as to accuracy. There may be other versions of the same dance or other dances with the same name. Music may differ, particularly in speed, introduction and duration, between performers. The division into parts, bars & counts might not be standard. These notes of the dance are freely distributable (under GPL or CC-by-sa) in so much as the note's author's contribution but the choreography and/or collection were by other people and so their copyright might apply to the dance itself. Better than using notes, go to a dance class where it is taught by Dimitar ("Mikto") Petrov.

A pair of simple dances which were set to the same piece of music. Either could be used for a very easy dance alone or they could be done together in a medley, as Mitko taught, for more interest.

Todorovo horo was traditionally a summer solstice dance done by young women. They would sing verses representing different professions whilst randomly picking from a bowl posies of flowers each had put in as ritual for predicting future husband's jobs. It has essentially identical footwork (but plus some ornamentation in the arms) to the Serbian dance Biserka Bojarka which is very well known in UK Balkan & Circle dance scenes as it is considered one of the easiest dances for beginners to do.

Style: Casual with relaxed medium size walking steps. In Todorov horo the arm swings are done with straight elbows and are only small (approx. 15 deg infront of vertically down). In Enjovo horo the arms move more and have a more abrupt feeling of switching between V-hold & W-hold and the pause gives a more staccatto feeling to the final R across infront step (but it is still just a step not a stamp).

Introduction

Summary: Woodwind solo.

The music had a drone-like woodwind solo before the beat came in. Start immediately with that beat or a whole number of phrases (4 bars, 8 counts) thereafter.

Enjovo horo (whole sequence)

Summary: R & L forwards slow to the R. Facing centre, (R side, L across behind) to V-hold & (R side, L start forwards) to W-hold. L forwards, bounce, R in place, L close. Pause x 2, R across infront to V-hold, L in place to W-hold.
